Brocade skins, skins ornamented with Japan became an art show for the sacrifice and the ephemeral. Philippe Pons dedicated to Japanese tattooing a valuable work, finely illustrated, without exoticism … A bright, what counts is the imaginary iconographic, its guns, the work of the stage, teachers and schools well exemplified in the book and the techniques developed. We have not practiced the ‘abekono Mikiri’ – these were based in degraded end position of the color of the skin itself, as the fruit fades into enjoyment. The design is incised on the order of the ‘adabana’, one of those flowers for nothing, who will never give fruit … If, before this “beauty secret that is offered in its unveiling, as the phrase engraved on the skin of darkness that everyone carries within himself, ” we do not maintain itself, as intact as possible, the feeling of strangeness gravity and the fun is only able to preserve, it will be before “the skin of courage” as others before the mystery of the body: bored, bewildered and suspicious. What the book by Philippe Pons helps dispose.
No country has pushed the art of tattooing as far away as Japan. Not only are rogue “Death to the cows” or “mom” that were being put into flesh thugs of yesteryear, but true polychrome paintings sometimes covering the entire body. Patrick Pons is the careful investigator of this practice elevated to an art major with his revered masters and masterpieces live, its rituals and fantasies.
